Diana Risse, RN, LMT
Background:
Diana is the owner/operator of AROMASSAGE, located at HealthWise
Resources, 327 Sixth St., Ames, IA 50010.
She has been employed at Mary Greeley Medical Center as a Registered
Nurse for over 25 years. She has also been a Licensed Massage Therapist
for over 5 years.
Diana graduated with Associate Arts and Associate Nursing degrees
from DMACC in Ankeny in 1980, and went back to complete her BSN
through Drake University in 1988. She has had most of her nursing
experience on Medical-Surgical Floors, then transferred on to the
SSU (Short Stay Unit) for a few years, and later became one of
the first Preadmission Nurses. In this role she initiates patient
interviews and does patient education for clients coming into the
hospital for surgeries. She has held this position since 1991,
when the department was created.
Diana did two years of self-study in Aromatherapy and its uses in
the home and office environment. During these studies she found a
common modality in using aromatherapy and massage for an optimal
body-mind-spirit connection. She pursued her massage therapy training
through the College of Massage Therapy and Healing Arts Center in
Des Moines, Iowa, graduating in 2000. She opened up her business,
AROMASSAGE, in March of 2001, and joined the Healthwise Resources
Group in October of 2003.
Diana has treated numerous clients with with chronic pain problems
such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, severe headaches and carpal tunnel
syndrome.

Diana is also a trainer for all forms of First Aid /
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Automated External Defibrillator
(AED), certified by both the Red Cross and the American Heart Association.
